Lori Whiteley, 57-Year-Old Plainfield Resident, Dies Following Tragic Single-Vehicle Crash in Wood County, Wisconsin
Lori Whiteley, a 57-year-old resident of Plainfield, Wisconsin, passed away after a serious vehicle crash that occurred on the evening of April 13 in Wood County.
Authorities reported that emergency crews responded to the incident along State Highway 73 near Apple Road in the Town of Sigel after receiving reports of a vehicle leaving the roadway.
Preliminary findings indicate that a southbound pickup truck veered off the highway and entered a roadside ditch under circumstances that remain under investigation.
During the crash, Lori Whiteley, who was traveling as a passenger, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained critical injuries.
Emergency responders transported Whiteley to Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where medical teams worked to save their life, but despite those efforts, Whiteley later passed away.
Officials confirmed that no charges have been announced, and the Wisconsin State Patrol continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
Community members have begun expressing their grief online, with one message reading, “Our hearts go out to the family during this incredibly difficult time.”
