Lawrence County Mourns the Heartbreaking Loss of Brynleigh Pledger Following Devastating April 11 Crash Near Moulton
Lawrence County is grieving the loss of 7-year-old Brynleigh Pledger, who passed away on April 16, 2026, after sustaining critical injuries in a tragic crash days earlier.
The accident occurred on April 11 at the intersection of Highways 157 and 24 near Moulton, where the family’s Chevrolet Suburban collided with a Ford F-150.
Brynleigh’s twin sister, Bryleigh Pledger, and brother, 13-year-old Bryant Ballew, died at the scene, while their mother, 33-year-old Ashley Hagood, later passed away at Parkway Medical Center in Decatur.
Brynleigh fought for several days after undergoing surgery and battling severe brain injuries, as family members held on to hope for recovery.
In a heartfelt message, the family shared, “Our baby girl fought so hard, but her little body is tired,” expressing the depth of their grief.
